Commercial Breeding

They make it look so easy.....

The Dapple Bloodstock private placement investments in commercial breeding partnerships are designed to allow investors to experience the upper 20% of the commercial yearling markets.
Remember, the top 10% of the market creates 50% of the gross annual sales!
Thus the mares we purchase for these deals are expensive and they have to visit top stallions.  A $100,000 minimum investment allows us to share the initial purchase cost while "spreading the risk" over quality mares. However, when created as a sole owner investment one can project an initial acquisition cost of $1,000,000 per year for a few years.
Why not participate in a this program with a few partners who can share the initial capitalization.  Take a look at our program based in Kentucky where you can find reasons to go out to the farms to "check on your investments."
Foaling season is an exciting time of year in the Thoroughbred Industry. It takes a foal about an hour from birth to stand and nurse, and another two hours for it to stretch its legs and run with the mare. Dapple breeders have the perfect excuse to see their newborn foals romping through the Kentucky pasture when the dogwood trees bloom in April. Although a longer term and somewhat conservative investment, the objective is a recovery of the broodmares purchase price and first-year expenses through the sale of the first and second foals. In other words, after the sale of the second foal, the broodmare owner should be operating in the black.

Before you the see dollar signs dancing in your head, investors must remember that Mother Nature decides the fate of the foals health and conformation. A foals over all make up and the way their bodies are put together will determine the market value and sale price.
Looking at stallions, learning market trends, and biting your nails on sale day are all part of the commercial breeding experience.
